ASKING ALEXANDRIA Guitarist: 'I Feel Like We're Still The Same Kids From 2009 Chasing The Same Dream'
October 16, 2018ASKING ALEXANDRIA guitarist Ben Bruce told "Two Doods Reviews" at this past weekend's Aftershock festival that he and his bandmates feel "somewhat" vindicated by the success of their latest single, "Alone In A Room". "For some reason, for whatever reason, I feel like nothing ever stops or slows down," he said (see video below). "I just feel like we're still the same kids from 2009 chasing the same dream. I try not to take too much in at once and I kind of just live in the moment, and right now, we're all just super excited about everything that's happenng with ASKING, with 'Alone In A Room'. This is our second-highest-charting single in our entire career, and we're excited — and everyone else seems to be excited with us." Drummer James Cassells added: "There's like a buzz — we feel it, the crowds feel it. Everybody in the industry seems to be, like, turning around and, like, 'Oh, sweet. That band ASKING ALEXANDRIA, they're doing some cool shit right now.'"
Earlier in the month, ASKING ALEXANDRIA released a brand new video for the stripped-down, acoustic version of "Alone In A Room".
"Alone In A Room" is the second single from ASKING ALEXANDRIA's self-titled fifth studio album, which was released last December via Sumerian Records. To date, the song has racked up a whopping 13.7 million streams on Spotify, 28 million global streams, five million YouTube views and spent five weeks at No. 1 on Sirius XM's "Big Uns" countdown. The acoustic version of the track was released as a B-side to the single and has received 765,000 streams to date.
ASKING ALEXANDRIA announced two weeks ago that it will join SHINEDOWN and PAPA ROACH for the "Attention Attention" tour in early 2019.
